Yoga is a mind-body discipline that has been in existance in some form or other for thousands of years.  While focusing on the breath, slow movements and postures are used to create awareness of the feelings within.  The inhale and exhale slows, focus deepens and we find a unique calm in ourselves.

The benefits of yoga are numerous:

*   Clarity of mind
*   An increase in body strength
*   A gain in flexibility
*   Increase in lung capacity and function
*   Sense of peacefulness and calm
*   Reduction in stress and tension

There are a variety of yoga classes that you can participate in.  Some classes involve more meditation and relaxation, while others are more strenuous and challenging.  Each class offers unique benefits.  Before you join a class, it can be helpful to consider what you are striving for and then contact the instructor to see if the particular class is a good fit for you. 

Challenge your way of living and decrease your level of stress.  Give yoga a try!
